ON GROWTH AND CONTRIBUTION

"The quality of your life will be
determined by the quality of
your contribution. When you work
to improve the lives of others,
your life improves automatically."

– Kurek Ashley

I've been thinking a lot, of late, about what it is to be of service... contemplating the driving natural principles of growth and contribution.

We've heard that "to whom much is given, much will be required", but there's evidence to support that whatever is given to whomever asks something of that person—something that acknowledges our connection to everything and everyone. Something that reminds us that, as the wonderful Gwendolyn Brooks stated,"[w]e are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond.

I've identified as an artist and writer for 51 years—a professional artist for 33 years (one highlight: having been signed to a five-album deal by Warner Bros. Records, in the early '90s) and a published (non-music) writer (essays and poetry) since the
late '90s.

For 46 years, I've been a student of Metaphysics and, for the past seven years, a transpersonal counselor (read: one who takes a holistic approach to therapy with an emphasis on spirituality).

It's the marriage of all the aforementioned that uniquely positions me to engage what's also a deep, personal passion: aiding others (especially, though not exclusively, artists) in breaking free from whatever might be blocking them from full expression. I want to help as many people as possible unlock their
Inner Creative... help them create the circumstances, lives and, yes, work that generate more good for them and, by extension, the world.

I'm grateful for all I've been given—all that continues to constitute growth in my life—and that calls me to contribute. Is there a way I might contribute to
you?
